Call For Art, International Association of artists and the Municipality of Piandiscò (Arezzo) Italy, organize a contest of digital Images on the theme of "Art and Music."
The contest is open to artists of any nationality. Every artist can participate with only one image.
The required digital images can be reproductions of paintings, sketches, drawings, graphic design or photos, digital manipulations, video still, related to the theme "Art and Music".

The original file must have the following dimensions:
OPTIMAL: width cm. 100 x height cm. 250, definition: 200 dpi ( width: 7874 Pixels, height: 19685 pixels).
MINIMUM: width cm. 100 x height cm. 250, definition: 50 dpi ( width: 1969 pixels, height: 4921)
The original file must be reduced to be sent by the online procedure, but every participant will have to keep the original file.
Among all the reached proposals, a jury nominated by the Municipality of Piandiscò will select 20 images that will be printed in format cm. 100 x 250, on polyester support, mounted as a banner. On the occasion of the Festival "ArteMusica" that will be held on 12,13,14,15  June 2008 in the Municipality of Piandiscò, aforesaid images can be delivered to the families of the town whose residences have windows, balconies or terraces on the roads interested by the festival. 
The involved families will guarantee the exhibition of the images outside their window /balconies for all the duration of the Festival. 
The Municipality can, anyway, choose a different way to publicly exhibit the selected images. 
The public of the event through a system of vote active until the hours 18,00 of the last day will have the opportunity to vote for the image that prefers. NB. Every images will be marked by a number so that the vote will be easier.  
The first three images that will receive more votes by the public will receive the followings prizes: 

1 PRIZE:
Euro 1000,00 gross + publication of the image on the manifestos, brochures and promotional material of the edition 2009 of the Festival + 1 free year of registration to the services of Call For Art

2 PRIZE:
Euro 500,00 gross + 1 free year of registration to the services of Call For Art

3 PRIZE:
Euro 300,00 gross + 1 free year of registration to the services of Call For Art
(see the section "Services" of the web site www.callforart.com)

The result of the vote will be announced during the last evening of the Festival before the beginning of the final concert. The winning artists will be informed in the days following the closing of the demonstration.
The three winning artists will be paid by money transfer by the Municipality of Piandiscò, behind presentation of a receipt.

AIMS OF THE COMPETITION:
The competition has the following objectives:

1. To create an high-level cultural event, with International/global breath and a local soul, in concomitance to the festival "Arte/Musica" as integral part of its activities and as its vehicle of international and local promotion.
2. To create a thematic set design for the Festival "Arte/Musica" able to animate and color the streets interested by the festival .
3. To promote the art and support the artists worldwide with an event of international character that gives visibility to their job
4. To actively involve the local families and the public of the festival.
The families can exhibit the 20 selected images outside their windows and balconies recalling an ancient local tradition on the occasion of popular festivals. The public of the festival will be, instead, actively involved in the vote of the works and its verdict will determine the final judgment of the contest.
5. To collect a file of digital images related to the theme of Art and Music, created by artists of many nationalities that can be used for the future promotion of the festival and as material of graphic support.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMAGE:
The original file of the image, at full format, will have to have the following dimensions:  
OPTIMAL: width cm. 100 x height cm. 250, definition: 200 dpi ( width: 7874 Pixels, height: 19685 pixels).
MINIMUM: width cm. 100 x height cm. 250, definition: 50 dpi ( width: 1969 pixels, height: 4921).
All the artists participating to the competition will have to preserve the original file in case their image will be selected for the printing. 
To send the image on line, please reduce it with the following characteristics:
width: 283 pixels or cm. 10
height: 709 pixels or cm. 25
definition: 72 dpi

VISIBILITY
All the images sent for the participation to the competition and the relative specifications will immediately be visible on www.callforart.com at the section "COMPETITION ARTE/MUSICA clicking on the voice "List Images".

RESULT OF THE SELECTIONS:
The results of the selections and the final decision of the popular jury will be published on the web site www.callforart.com

RIGHTS OF PUBLICATION
All the participants to the competition agree to permit the use and publication of their images in case these were selected among the 20 chosen for the printing. The name of the author will always be mentioned.
